PADPARADSCHA SAPPHIRES
Padparadscha is Sinhalese for 'lotus flower', a reference to the vibrant orange and pink hues with the sapphire that mimic a lotus flower. Padparadscha Sapphire ranges from very light orangey-pink through to a more intense orange-salmon shade. It is said that 'true' Padparadscha is only found in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon). However, beautiful examples of Sapphires with the Padparadscha hue are mined in Madagascar. Padparadscha sapphires are rare, and this scarcity makes them extremely valuable. If you don't see your perfect Padparadscha Sapphire in our online store, contact Gemma at The Sapphire Merchant today with your requirements.
